View of the masonry at Pueblo Bonito. The styles of stone masonry changed over time, with specific style being indicative of different time periods. The masonry shows a high degree of skill in both the cutting and laying of the masonry. In general, the styles used in the late 11th Century were most ornate and had thicker veneers than earlier construction. There is evidence that the Chacoans covered most of the stonework with plaster.
