| Cottonwoods grow along the drainage below Pipe Spring. Cottonwoods can only live near relatively shallow water sources. The Arizona Strip around Pipe Spring National Monument is dominated by grasslands, sagebrush desert, and juniper-juniper-gamble oak shrublands in the higher areas. |
