Beehive Point is submerged by Flaming Gorge Reservoir. Downstream of the
point, the Green River cuts a canyon through Bear Mountain (a great cuesta
ridge on the northeast side of the Unita Range). Powell named this section
of the river downstream, Red Canyon.
