View looking downstream into Ernst Tinaja. The Ersnt Member of the Boquillas Formation consists of thin-bedded shales that contain small clams (inoceramids). These sediments were deposited in the Western Interior Seaway during the Turonian Stage of the Cretaceous Period (about 90 million years ago).
