This view is looking directly east of the Strike Valley Overlook toward the Tarantula Mesa and Henry Mountains in the distance. On the distant left rising above Tarantula Mesa is the east-to-west-trending escarpment of the Mesa Verde Formation. From left to right are Mt. Pennell, Mt. Hilliers, and in the distant right, Mt. Holmes.
