Drunken Forest due to slumping in Forest of Nisene Marks, Santa Cruz County, California

This view shows a "drunken" or "deranged" forest in association with the large landslide complex in the Forest of Nisene Mark in Santa Cruz County. Many trees fell during the 1989 Loma Prieta earthquake, and whole groves of trees have bent trunks from having adjusted themselves back to a vertical direction after the ground surface rotated in areas of deep-seated slumps.
