Landslides on Santa Rosa Island, Channel Islands National Park, California
 |
| Small landslides are scattered across the grassy slopes of Santa Rosa Island (Channel Islands National Park). Many small landslides occurred throughout the Channel Islands and nearby mainland during a series of winter storms early in 1999. The landslides occurred in a region where the surface soil is underlain by soft sedimentary rocks (Monterey Formation). |
