This is an outcrop of interbedded marine sandstone and conglomerate of the Point Reyes Conglomerate of Paleocene to lower Eocene age being examined by USGS Geologist Phil Stoffer. These sedimentary rocks rest on upper Cretaceous granite and granodiorite.
