Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone extends about 10 miles between the park towns of Canyon Village and Tower-Roosevelt. This north-facing view was probably taken from an overlook near Great Falls (Lower Falls). The rock in the canyon consists of heavily altered volcanic tuff of Quaternary age.
